(3 customer reviews)

Located near the town of San Martin Jilotepeque, Guatemala, Juan Luis Barrios Ortega grows these Bourbon 65%, Typica 30% and Pache 5% varietal trees 1750 meters above sea level on his family’s two farms, La Merced and Retiro de Quisaya.

Guatemala Retiro Natural Process is the same great Guatemala Retiro but a new process of the green beans this year that dries the bean in the cherry on the patio in the sun. The beans are turned meticulously to ensure an even drying process and a complex flavor profile.

I received this as a promotional incentive. Thank you,I guess. This coffee has a strange smell and an even more bizarre taste. I cannot quit place it but I am wondering if the house cat has been using this batch for a litterbox. It is undrinkable.

This Guatemala and the Colombian Finca Campoalegre are my two favorites, with the Guatemalan ranked slightly above, though my wife prefers the Colombian. All of the Americas coffees I have tried are excellent, including the Panama which is not currently available. I can’t wait until that becomes available again.

This light roast coffee has a bright level of acidity and the natural drying process gives a great flavor of tart cherries blending with the coffee. This coffee is a great bargain at this price, and it is one of my favorites.
